The fifth book in the NT. The book was apparently written by the same person responsible for the Gospel of Luke (
Acts 1:1). Acts serves as a sequel or continuation of that Gospel story, recounting the history of the earliest Christian church. The emphasis is on the role of the Holy Spirit, the faithfulness of the early Jerusalem church, and the success of the missionary career of Paul.
