Moses’s mother. According to priestly traditions, she and her husband, Amram, both descendants of Levi, were the parents of Aaron, Moses (Exod 6:20), and Miriam (Num 26:59). This is a conflation of earlier statements in Exodus (Exod 2:1-10, Exod 4:14, Exod 15:20).
20Amram married Jochebed his father's sister and she bore him Aaron and Moses, and the length of Amram's life was one hundred thirty-seven years.
59The name of Amram's wife was Jochebed daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt; and she bore to Amram: Aaron, Moses, and their sister Miriam.
