Pishon (Pi´shon)

One of the four “rivers” that received water from a source in the Garden of Eden (Gen 2:11). There is no scholarly agreement as to which of today’s rivers might have been meant or whether, perhaps, the intended referent was some larger body of water, such as the Persian Gulf.

11The name of the first is Pishon; it is the one that flows around the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
