Eve

Eev

Tthe first woman, created by God (Gen 2:21-22). The meaning of the name is uncertain. In sound, but not in derivation, the name resembles the Hebrew word “life.” The association pertains in Gen 3:20, where the primal woman is designated the “mother of all living.” Eve also appears in Gen 4:1; 2Cor 11:3; and 1Tim 2:13.
